Terms of Service
& Use
Effective October 18, 2026 · Last updated October 19, 2026
These terms cover sulcatakeeper.com and the Sulcata Keeper web app, including keeper accounts, Plus tools, community rooms, and adoption-support features. “Sulcata Keeper,” “we,” and “us” refer to the independent, self-funded Sulcata Keeper initiative based in Los Lunas, New Mexico. We are not currently a registered 501(c)(3) organization and do not represent contributions as tax-deductible donations.
1. Accounts and agreement
By agreeing to these terms when creating an account or submitting a form, you agree to follow them when using the service. If you do not agree, do not create an account or submit content. Keeper accounts, community posting, and adoption submissions are intended for adults age 18 or older. General care education may be read without an account.
Provide accurate information, use an account you are authorized to access, and protect your sign-in credentials. ChatGPT handles authentication; we do not collect your ChatGPT password. Tell us if you believe someone has accessed your keeper account without permission. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is used.
2. Education, not veterinary care
Sulcata Keeper provides general education, record-keeping, and community discussion. We are not a veterinary service and do not diagnose, treat, prescribe, or provide emergency care. Articles, product notes, community advice, and photographs cannot determine what is appropriate for every animal. Some educational content and illustrations are prepared with AI assistance and are not represented as reviewed by a veterinarian unless a named real review of that version and its date are explicitly recorded.
You remain responsible for your animal’s care, enclosure, supervision, and compliance with applicable animal-welfare rules. Contact a veterinarian experienced with sulcatas for individualized care, illness, injury, or suspected poisoning. Do not delay veterinary attention while waiting for a community or website response.
3. Weather and monitoring tools
Weather features show information supplied by independent providers for an approximate ZIP-code location or nearby station. Forecasts and alerts may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, or unavailable. They do not measure conditions inside your enclosure and do not establish that outdoor time is safe.
Plus weather checks run while the page is open and visible. Phone, SMS, email, and closed-page weather notifications are not enabled. Connected enclosure sensors are not currently integrated. Check actual enclosure readings, official weather notices, and your own care plan. Do not rely on this website as an emergency warning system.
4. Plus membership and payment terms
The seven-day Plus preview requires no payment card and never renews or charges automatically. Individual Plus costs $2.99 USD per month with automatic monthly renewal until canceled, or one $29.99 USD payment for 12 months with no automatic annual renewal. Annual payment saves $5.89 compared with 12 monthly payments. Paid enrollment is available only when the account checkout is enabled. Accepting these website terms alone does not authorize a charge.
Choose a plan from Membership & billing while signed in to the keeper account that will receive access. Square hosts checkout and processes your payment. We activate paid access after verifying payment with Square. Buying during a free preview starts the paid term immediately; unused preview days are not added to the paid term. Returning from checkout, a donation, or payment through an older standalone link does not by itself activate Plus. Contact us if you paid using the wrong link or account before paying again.
Monthly charges recur at $2.99 until you cancel. Use “Cancel monthly renewal” in Membership & billing before your next renewal. Square schedules cancellation at the end of its current billing period; your account displays the cancellation date. Cancellation stops future renewals and does not automatically refund a payment already made. Verified paid time remains available until its recorded end date. Failed or unpaid renewals do not extend access. Late payments cover the original invoiced monthly period, not a new month beginning on the late payment date. Annual access begins with the verified payment and ends 12 calendar months later; you may choose to buy again after expiry.
For billing help or a refund request, email info@sulcatakeeper.com. Include the payment date and membership plan, never card details. Requests are reviewed individually, subject to applicable rights. A completed full refund removes access covered by that payment. A partial refund retains the original access period. Payments under dispute do not provide Plus access while under review; access can resume if the dispute is resolved in our favor and the paid term has not ended. A refund or dispute affecting one payment does not remove access from another eligible payment or an active complimentary Teams grant.
After Plus access ends, saved caregiver plans remain readable and printable, but editing, Plus forecasts, and access to other members’ community posts pause. You can still view and delete your own community posts. Schedules and completion history remain available to read, print and download. Core free care tools remain available. Before account deletion, cancel monthly renewal and wait for its cancellation date, close unfinished checkouts, and allow 24 hours for recently closed checkouts to settle. Contact us if you need help. Deleting a keeper account does not itself cancel charges in Square.
Shared schedules, reminders, and permissions
Individual Plus includes up to 2,000 dated tasks and 10 caregiver invitations. Sulcata Keeper Teams includes 10 staff accounts total, including the administrator, plus 25 additional caregiver or foster invitations and up to 10,000 task occurrences. Pending valid invitations reserve a place. Each person signs in with their own free account.
Invitations are assigned to one email and must be accepted within seven days. Administrators choose the permitted animals and access dates. Temporary access ends at the selected time even after acceptance; ongoing access continues until revoked. Only the administrator manages invitations or deletes animal records. Staff can manage authorized records and tasks. Caregivers can read assigned care instructions and complete permitted tasks; private intake, placement and health-history notes are excluded from their animal record view.
Daily and weekly repeats create a finite series of up to 90 dated occurrences within one year. Completion records identify who reported the work and when. They are self-reported, not independent proof of care. Missing entries do not prove care was missed. In-page reminders refresh while the page is visible. Downloaded calendar files must be imported into a calendar with notifications enabled. They are copies, do not sync, and remain after changes or access revocation. Task reminders do not send website email, SMS, or background push. Optional weather notifications are separate: eligible Plus members and approved Teams staff can enable up to five devices, with permission on each device. Background weather checks require an active site schedule. Delivery may be delayed or unavailable and is not an emergency warning service.
After individual Plus expiry or organization access cancellation, task creation and completion pause. Existing records remain readable, printable and exportable within current permissions, and the administrator can still revoke access. Expired or revoked individual permissions block further server access. Printed and downloaded copies cannot be recalled.
Sulcata Keeper Teams for rescues and sanctuaries
Sulcata Keeper Teams is free for approved 501(c)(3) rescues and sanctuaries caring for sulcatas. Eligibility and the authorized administrator are verified before an organization invitation is issued. Complimentary membership and the included staff access require no card, donation, referral or automatic paid renewal.
The activation code belongs to one organization and its designated administrator email, is single-use, and must be redeemed within 30 days. Do not share, sell, transfer or publish this code. After activation, the administrator may invite staff and caregivers through the separate care access system. These authorized invitations are permitted; sharing administrator credentials or activation codes is not.
The workspace supports up to 500 animal records, three resized photos per animal and 200 history entries per record. Current staff and task allowances appear on the membership page. Contact us about larger requirements. Misuse or loss of eligibility may result in cancellation of complimentary access without conversion to a paid subscription. Existing records remain available to the administrator for reading, export and deletion.
Ask a care question
The Plus care helper matches a question to a limited, source-linked guide. It is not a live conversation, diagnostic service, or medication adviser. It does not remember earlier questions or assess images. It may misunderstand wording or fail to recognize a health concern. Contact a reptile veterinarian directly for illness, injury, suspected poisoning, or individual care advice.
5. Community conduct and your content
Post only material you own or have permission to share, including photographs, links, and information about other people. Do not post private phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses, personal documents, or identifiable people without appropriate permission. Do not impersonate others, harass members, post unlawful material, promote animal sales or breeding, solicit adoption fees, send spam, or attempt to bypass access restrictions.
Share personal experience honestly and identify relevant sources. Do not present yourself as a veterinarian unless qualified, diagnose another member’s animal, or encourage someone to delay necessary care. Disclose an affiliate or commercial relationship when recommending a product. Member opinions and links are not statements or endorsements by Sulcata Keeper.
You retain ownership of your submitted content. You give us a nonexclusive permission to store, resize, display, and moderate it as needed to operate the feature you chose. Private care records are not licensed for public promotion. Community posts are shown to eligible members after owner review; reviewed adoption listings may be public. We will ask for separate permission before using your private photos or posts in off-site advertising.
We may decline, hide, or remove posts and restrict access to protect members, enforce these terms, or comply with law. Review does not verify every factual claim or guarantee that content is safe or accurate. Use the report feature or contact us about a concern. You can delete your own community posts and photos; other people may already have saved copies.
Website contact
Use the contact form for education topics, rescue questions, and feedback. It is not an emergency service. A successful receipt means the message was saved, not that it has been read or that a placement is approved. Response windows are owner-set estimates and may change with capacity. Do not submit spam or unnecessary sensitive information.
6. Fee-free adoption support
Adoption listings and applications through Sulcata Keeper must involve no adoption fee, required donation, trade, or required purchase. Membership and product purchases do not buy priority or approval. A submission is a request for review, not an approval, reservation, transfer of ownership, or guarantee of placement.
Applicants must meet the stated screening requirements, including relevant experience and a video of the prepared enclosure. No breeding, sale, or rehoming is permitted under our placement conditions without contacting Sulcata Keeper for written approval of a new home or an arranged return. A separate placement agreement and human approval are required before transfer. Do not leave or deliver an animal without arrangements. Intake and placement depend on capacity. Other rescues set their own policies.
7. Amazon, affiliates, and other websites
Amazon and other linked businesses, websites, and services are independently owned and operated. Sulcata Keeper does not own or control them and is not their agent or representative.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Some product links are affiliate links, which means Sulcata Keeper may receive a commission from a qualifying purchase. This affiliate relationship does not mean Amazon or a manufacturer sponsors or endorses Sulcata Keeper, our care advice, or our adoption service. Other compensated links will be identified when used.
External links are provided for information or convenience. A link does not guarantee a site’s accuracy, security, availability, or a product’s suitability. Once you visit another site, its own terms, privacy practices, and sales policies apply. Review them before providing information or buying anything.
Purchases are made with the retailer or seller, not Sulcata Keeper. The retailer or seller handles prices, checkout, payment, fulfillment, returns, refunds, warranties, and customer support under its policies. Direct order or product concerns to that business. Buying through our links is optional and is never required for care education or fee-free adoption.
Optional contributions through Square
Contributions support Sulcata Keeper’s independent, self-funded work. They are voluntary and do not buy products, membership, rescue codes, adoption priority, or placement approval. Sulcata Keeper is not currently a 501(c)(3) organization, and contributions are not tax-deductible charitable donations.
Square hosts checkout and processes payments under its applicable terms and privacy practices. Review the amount and payment terms displayed there before confirming. Contact info@sulcatakeeper.com with payment concerns or refund requests, including a receipt reference but never full card details. Nothing here limits rights available under applicable law.
8. Availability and limits
We work to keep the service useful, but cannot promise uninterrupted access, error-free content, successful adoption, or a particular outcome from advice or products. Keep your own copies of records you need. Features may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued. Where practical, we will provide notice of significant changes affecting saved records or account access.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available without a guarantee of completeness, suitability, or uninterrupted operation. We are not responsible for independent third parties’ products, services, or conduct merely because they are linked here. Nothing in these terms excludes a responsibility, remedy, or consumer right that cannot lawfully be limited.
9. Ending use and changes to these terms
You may stop using the service or delete your keeper account through account settings. The Privacy Policy explains records that require a separate deletion request, including adoption submissions. We may restrict an account for misuse or security concerns; contact us if you believe a restriction was made in error.
We will date revisions on this page. Material changes will be brought to users’ attention through the website or an appropriate account notice, and additional agreement will be requested where required. Changes do not retroactively authorize a charge or a new use of previously collected information contrary to applicable requirements.
