Sulcata Keeper is a self-funded, independent education and adoption-support initiative. Every listing is reviewed, and every home must be approved before a placement through our service.
No fees. No breeding. No selling.
No adoption charge, required donation, trade or purchase. Prior hands-on tortoise experience and a video of the prepared enclosure are required. Submitting an application is not approval.
Before any future rehoming, adopters must contact Sulcata Keeper for written approval of the new home or arrange a return. Never release, abandon or drop off a tortoise without arrangements. Intake and placement depend on capacity.
How a placement works
- Prepare: plan adult housing, costs, veterinary care, and transport.
- Submit: sign in free and send your listing or application privately.
- Review: Sulcata Keeper checks the details and requests missing information.
- Enclosure assessment: your hands-on experience and enclosure video are reviewed.
- Approval: a person decides whether the home is suitable; submission is not approval.
- Coordinated placement: confirm the agreement, care handoff, and transport before transfer.
Expected response: A response window has not yet been set. Requests are reviewed as capacity allows.

List your sulcata for a fee-free home
Sign in and choose “Submit a listing.” Your listing stays private until Sulcata Keeper reviews it. Interested adopters apply through this website, so owners’ email addresses and phone numbers are not published. Sulcata Keeper receives the application in its private review queue and coordinates contact after screening.
Listing a sulcata, applying and adoption are free. A Plus membership or product purchase is never required. We are working toward 501(c)(3) status and are not currently a registered 501(c)(3) organization.

Adoption privacy and review
Read our phone-number policy, full Privacy Policy, and Terms of Service & Use. We do not sell personal information or share contact numbers with advertisers. We ask permission before sharing personal contact details for placement coordination.
Public listings contain reviewed tortoise details and city/state only. Contact details, address, references, application answers and video links are stored privately with your sign-in account and are available to the Sulcata Keeper owner for screening. Other keepers cannot see your application. Owner notification emails contain only the event type and a reference; they do not copy your application answers or video. Your on-screen receipt and My submissions status are your acknowledgment. We do not send an automatic acknowledgment email or automatically contact references. A notification failure does not erase a saved submission.
Use a video link that the reviewer can access, such as an unlisted video or a shared file. This is a link submission, not a video upload. Your video host has its own privacy settings; anyone who obtains an unlisted link may be able to watch it. Avoid showing people, documents, house numbers or unrelated private spaces.
You can view and withdraw your submissions below. Withdrawal removes a listing from public view but retains its screening record. Keeper-account deletion does not erase adoption records. For a copy or deletion request, contact info@sulcatakeeper.com. Records are retained for placement coordination and follow-up until removed following a request or administrative review. We discuss any necessary contact sharing with you before a handoff.
Application acknowledgments record your agreement to our screening policies. A separate placement agreement and human approval are required before transfer. They are not an automatic transfer of ownership or a guarantee of placement.
