Fee-free adoption, careful matching
Prepare your experience history and enclosure video before applying. Every placement requires human approval.
Preparation comes first
Review adult space, heating, diet, transport, and long-term costs. Identify a veterinarian who treats sulcatas. Gather your relevant hands-on experience, a clear enclosure video, and an honest description of the home and care routine.
Before submitting a tortoise for rehoming, organize the care history, health information you know, and practical care requirements. Do not invent an age or medical assessment. Discuss uncertainty openly with the reviewer.
How our process works
Submit privately after sign-in. Sulcata Keeper reviews the information, asks follow-up questions, and assesses the enclosure. Approval is a human decision; an application or listing does not guarantee acceptance, intake, or placement. Approved parties then coordinate a safe handoff and a separate placement agreement.
There is no adoption fee, required donation, required purchase, or paid priority. Relevant hands-on experience and an enclosure video are required. Adopters agree to no breeding or selling and must contact Sulcata Keeper before future rehoming for approval or an arranged return.
Use the adoption page for the current owner-set response window. If no approved listings are available, prepare your home, submit a listing if you need to rehome, or contact an independent rescue. Never release a tortoise or leave one at a rescue without arrangements.
